Løkkekiosken in Tromsø

This little kiosk in the centre of Tromsø was originally built in 1911, by the eighteen year old Marit Løkke. Nowadays it’s called «Raketten» – the rocket, because of its onion shaped roof. Tromsø is known as the Arctic Paris. I’ve been told it’s because the density of bars and cafes versus citizens is the same here as in the original Paris. Raketten is the tiniest bar town and one of the oldest.

b & w challenge – people 3

Brushing teeth on a cabin trip - not easy - very worth it

I’ve been challenged by Julita Wozny to post black & white photos for the up-coming five days. Yay!

In return I nominate PERCEPTION 😀

Mr., in order to take this challenge, you must post B&W photography for the next five days, and each day nominate another photographer to enter the challenge. Good luck!

Phony Winter

Highlights:

Hoe easily my absence from this blog can be explained: I got a new phone for my birthday! Hurray for Phony! And suddenly I didn’t need to drag my heavy camera around with me. A phone is more than sufficient for capturing everyday moments. Which I’ve been doing and posting on my tumblr-playground here.

Mixed feelings

Winter activities at Dombås in Norway
Ah, the moment I shot this was so sweet and I smile when I remember it. But it’s a memory with a price tag……
I paid 100 dollar to develop 24 pictures yesterday. I assure you it was the last time I brought films to a developer in Oslo.
But I can enjoy the feeling of holding the following picture in my hand when the chocolate abstinence kicks in. Yeah.

On the bright side – if I don’t tell anyone, nobody will yell at me….
